Y Bhg Dato' Akbar bin Moidunny
President, MAICSA
He chairs multiple MAICSA committees, including the Regional Committees, Conference Organising Committee, Membership Committee, Constitution Task Force, and National Disciplinary Tribunal, and represents the Institute on key regulatory and industry platforms, such as the Corporate Practice Consultative Forum and the Company Secretaries Consultative Group.
Y Bhg Dato' Akbar qualified with ICSA (now The Chartered Governance Institute, UK) in 1986 and holds a practising licence spanning 39 years. He is Founder, Group Chairman, and CEO of the MINC Group of Companies, providing corporate secretarial and governance consultancy services to over 1,000 companies.
With nearly four decades of experience, he is a recognised authority in corporate governance, restructuring, and due diligence, frequently speaking at forums and acting as a mediator in corporate disputes. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Management and serves on the Bar Council Malaysia’s Disciplinary Committee.
Chari TVT
Business & Financial Consultant
Chari Tvt served as the Group CFO of Malaysia’s Axiata Group & Celcom Telecommunication up until December 2016. Axiata is one of the largest telecommunications groups in Asia with more than 200 million customers and a market cap of approximately US 10 B. Chari has also served as the CFO of Celcom Axiata since mid-2009 and was responsible for a series of new initiatives which helped Celcom to receive an Award for generating the highest ROIC within Malaysia.
Prior to joining the Axiata Group, he was Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan at Hewlett Packard and had served HP for over twenty years of which he spent 4 years in Hongkong, 12 years in Singapore and 4 years in Thailand and Malaysia. In his 20 years stint in HP, the first 10 years was spent in various finance positions and the last 10 years in Sales & Marketing, Business Unit head at Asia Pac level.
In his down time, he continues to deliver a range of talks at local and international conferences, on topics like Importance of Analytics, Digital Disruptions, Digital Transformation, Technology Risk Assessment, Purpose Driven Leadership, Business Model Innovation, Investment Portfolio Management Etc.
He is an advisory member of a subcommittee of Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a mentor for entrepreneurs under Endeavor Malaysia and an advisory member to a plastic recycling company. He holds an MBA from State University of New York at Buffalo, and is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Member of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India.
Andrew S. Kalish
Chief Legal Officer, BAC Education Group
At BAC Education, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of legal and professional education. As Chief Legal Officer of the BAC Education Group and co-lead of BAC’s Asia Law Academy, he designs programmes, develops curriculum, and sits on key committees responsible for creating practice-ready, industry-relevant courses. In addition, as Head of Continuing Professional Education, he oversees BAC’s professional development portfolio, guiding legal and corporate professionals in advancing their careers.
Through his extensive experience across legal practice, corporate leadership, and education management, Andrew S. Kalish continues to be a respected voice in advancing legal education and professional growth across the region.
Professor Dr. Amer Hamzah Jantan
Chief Executive & Vice Chancellor, Veritas University College
At City University Malaysia, he supervised 39 PhD students, with 26 successfully graduating under his guidance. Amer’s career began in education, teaching at primary and secondary schools before moving into higher education roles, including positions at the Ministry of Education Malaysia. He holds a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, a Master of Management from the International Islamic University Malaysia, and a Ph.D. in Management from UPM. His research interests span organizational behavior, human resource management, and lifelong learning. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters, served on editorial boards, and held leadership roles in various educational organizations, including the Malaysian Society for Educational Administration and Management and the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management.
